Hoya sp. MIRAL 202 Langkawi Island is a rare and unique Hoya. It was collected by a Czech couple who traveled through Southeast Asia some time ago, collecting Hoya cuttings along their travels for their own private collection. They eventually sold their Hoya collection which is how this Hoya found its way into circulation. It’s still quite uncommon and not seen in many collections.
This is an unrooted cutting. You will get a cutting with 1-2 leaves.
The rooted Hoya shown in photos is not for sale, it is an example of what this Hoya looks like.
Care level: easy
Ideal temperature: 68-85°F / 20-27°C.
Humidity: 45% and above.
Light: Bright, mainly indirect light.
Sun Exposure: In the northern hemisphere, south, east, or west-facing rooms. North-facing windows may not provide enough light for bloom initiation.
Soil: Potting mix with quick drainage that can provide good air circulation. Hoya sp. MIRAL 202 Langkawi Island can withstand a little dryness between waterings but don’t let it go too long as the leaves are fairly thin. Potting mixes that retain too much moisture for too long will rot the roots. Typical Hoya mixes contain perlite, orchid bark, cactus and succulent potting mix, coco coir, or sand among other ingredients but dense substrates like peat are used in moderation to prevent too much moisture retention. Unless of course you go semi-hydro. I’m not here to tell you what to do. I grow these babies in PON.
