Alyona is a Ukrainian rapper and songwriter. In 2019, she released her debut album Pushka («Пушка») and quickly climbed her way to becoming “the new rap star of Ukraine”. She has been likened to Azealia Banks.
Hoya ‘Alyona’ has absolutely nothing to do with the rapper and songwriter Alyona. It is simply a pretty Hoya. I have no idea how it got its name.
This is an unrooted cutting. You will get 1-2 unrooted leaves.

Care level: easy
Ideal temperature: 68-85°F / 20-27°C.
Humidity: 40% and above.
Light: Bright, indirect light. A little full sun is okay with acclimation.
Sun Exposure: In the northern hemisphere, south, east, or west-facing rooms. Doesn’t want hours of direct sun. North-facing windows will not provide enough light for bloom initiation.
Hoyas need potting mix with quick drainage that can provide good air circulation around the roots. This Hoya can withstand a little dryness between waterings but don’t let it go too long as the leaves are fairly thin. Potting mixes that retain too much moisture for too long will rot the roots. Typical potting mixes for Hoyas contain perlite, tree bark for orchids, cactus and succulent potting mix, coco coir, or sand among other ingredients, but dense substrates like peat are used in moderation to prevent moisture retention. Unless of course you go semi-hydro. I’m not here to tell you what to do. All of my plants are grown in Lechuzapon.
