Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I add plants to my current order?

Sometimes you place an order and realize you want to add another plant but you don’t want to pay twice for shipping.

Yes, you can add more Hoyas to your current, ongoing order! After adding your additional Hoya(s) to your cart, go to checkout and you will see the following option:

ADD HOYAS TO AN ONGOING ORDER – reserved for those who have already made one order and want to add more Hoyas without shipping costs. Please provide the original order # in Order Notes.

Select this option and be sure to provide the original order number in the Order Notes portion of the checkout process.

  • I want to remove a plant from my order. Can you remove it and provide a partial refund?

If you send an email to hello@hoyamygosh.com with ample time before plants are packed and ready for shipment (ideally Sunday afternoon), I can provide a partial refund and remove the plant from your order. I will only do this one single time. If you make this request more than once or across multiple orders, I will refuse to continue doing it. If you really want to remove another plant from the same order, I will cancel and refund the entire order so that you can start over instead.

Buying plants and asking me to refund them later is not a method of reserving plants.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    HOYAMYGOSH! accepts payments via:

    • Credit and Debit Cards
    • PayPal
    • Direct bank transfer
    • Google Pay
    • Stripe
    • Bancocontact
    • EPS
    • Giropay
    • Przelewy24
    • SEPA Debit
    • Sofort
    • iDEAL
  • Can I pre-order?

    No. You cannot pre-order Hoyas.

  • Can I reserve plants?

No, you cannot reserve plants. Placing a plant in your cart does not reserve it for you for any amount of time. It is available until it is actually purchased by someone. This means many people can add one plant to their cart at the same time.

If you add a Hoya to your cart and someone else adds it and purchases it while you are still browsing, the plant will be sold to the first buyer and it will no longer remain in your cart.

  • Where are you located?

    Lille, France.

I do not have a shop that can be visited.

  • When do you ship plants?

UPS deliveries are shipped on Mondays and Standard Post deliveries are shipped on Tuesdays. Holidays may affect this schedule.

If you place your order on a Monday and you choose UPS (shipment day), your order will not be shipped until the following week.

If you place your order on a Tuesday and choose Standard Post, your order will not be shipped until the following week.

If there is a holiday here in France, I will delay shipment by a week if necessary in order to avoid the holiday. If you know there will be a holiday in your country in the coming week, you should notify me and I can delay your shipment.

  • Is there shipment tracking information?

Yes, you should always receive tracking information for your order. It may be slightly delayed depending on when you actually place your order. You will receive your tracking information once your package has been handed off to UPS or the post office.

  • My plant arrived damaged or dead

First of all, I’m truly sorry if this is the case. I always suggest taking clear and well-lit photographs of plants as you unbox them, just in case anything has gone wrong in shipment.

Please contact me immediately at hello@hoyamygosh.com to discuss what went wrong. We’ll find a solution. ?

  • How often do you restock?

I restock as frequently as I can. You can follow @hoyamygosh.shop on Instagram or follow the Facebook page to remain updated!

  • How big is an unrooted cutting?

For smaller leaf Hoyas (i.e. Hoya bella, Hoya minutiflora, Hoya heuschkeliana, etc.), you can expect 4-6 leaves and 2-3 nodes.

For larger leaf Hoyas (i.e. Hoya sp. Nong Nooch, Hoya elliptica, Hoya ‘Priktai’, etc.), you can expect 1-2 leaves/one node.

  • Why is my plant losing variegation/turning green?

Variegated plants will revert to their natural fully-green state if they do not receive enough light. If you have a variegated Hoya and you notice that it’s losing variegation and putting out fully green leaves, you need to give it more light.

Not only that, but you’ll probably have to cut it down to the lowest node containing variegation and then expose it to a brighter light environment in order to promote further variegated growth. Usually, once a vine goes fully green, it does not revert back.

There is nothing wrong with the plant itself. This is how variegation in plants works. It can happen to any variegated Hoya if it does not get adequate light.

  • Do you have photos of the blooms for X Hoya?

I take photos of my Hoya blooms as they bloom and I upload those photos to product descriptions when I can. If you would like to see the blooms of a specific Hoya, I suggest doing a quick Google image search for that Hoya, like “Hoya serpens flowers” or “Hoya lyi bloom“. Most Hoya blooms exist out there on the Internet, you can find them via Google. This will get you much faster results than contacting me. Besides, I’d just be doing the same exact thing. ?

  • Sold out items?

When items are sold out, the product page will still show up in search results but it will state that it’s sold out.

Adding items to your cart does not reserve them. Multiple people can add the same item to their cart. The first person who actually buys the item is the one who will receive it.

  • My plant doesn't look like the picture

Unless you are otherwise contacted, the plant you select is the plant that will be sent to you.

    For rooted plants

The plant you choose from the photos and drop-down menu is the one you will get. Sometimes they grow more leaves between being uploaded to the site and being sold.

    For cuttings

I cannot provide you with a photo of your exact cutting, I don’t have time. But I can verify that you will receive a fresh cutting from that specific plant shown in the photos on the day that I ship.

  • Where do you get your plants?

From friends, from locals, from around the globe. I have purchased many Hoyas here in the EU as well as from Asia. Many cuttings come from my own personal collection which I’ve spent years acquiring and hours caring for. I am giving you cuttings from plants that I have a personal relationship with and that I love very much.

I never flip plants. If I make a mass order from a distant region, rest assured that I treat and care for those plants for weeks until they are well-rooted and healthy enough to be sold.

I always research my sources and I do not purchase Hoyas if plant poaching is suspected under any circumstances.

  • Why aren't you responding to me on Instagram or Facebook?

For simplicity’s sake, all customer inquiries, questions, suggestions, and love letters are handled via email. You can contact me at hello@hoyamygosh.com.

Except in the case that you are sharing an Instagram post tagging @hoyamygosh.shop with photos of your Hoyas and you would like a 10% off coupon. See this page for details.
