Hoya lacunosa Cikidian Java is a fast-growing Hoya with large and highly textured leaves. Expect many flowers and frequent blooming!
Note: Cikidian is not a place in Indonesia (Java). I think a typing error may have occurred since this Hoya was put into trade. My suspicions are Cikidang, Cikande, or Cikiara but since I purchased it as “Cikidian Java”, I retain the name of the Hoya in my collection to avoid confusion.

Care level: easy
Ideal temperature: 68-85°F / 20-27°C.
Humidity: 50% and above.
Light: Bright, indirect light. A little full sun is okay with acclimation.
Sun Exposure: In the northern hemisphere, south, east, or west-facing rooms. Doesn’t want hours of direct sun. North-facing windows will not provide enough light for bloom initiation.
Hoyas need potting mix with quick drainage that can provide good air circulation around the roots. This Hoya can withstand a little dryness between waterings but don’t let it go too long as the leaves are fairly thin. Potting mixes that retain too much moisture for too long will rot the roots. Typical potting mixes for Hoyas contain perlite, tree bark for orchids, cactus and succulent potting mix, coco coir, or sand among other ingredients, but dense substrates like peat are used in moderation to prevent moisture retention. Unless of course you go semi-hydro. I’m not here to tell you what to do. All of my plants are grown in Lechuzapon.
