Let’s talk about leaves that can easily get to be the size of your head! Hoya glabra is capable of producing leaves that your cats could sleep under. This is a really fantastic and easy-care Hoya with lovely blooms and it won’t ask much in terms of care. Did I mention it sun stresses? Mine blushes on the patio all summer long. Maybe that’s because I never forget to tell her how beautiful she is. 🥰

Care level: easy
Ideal temperature: 68-85°F / 20-27°C.
Humidity: 40% and above.
Light: Bright, indirect light. A little full sun is okay with acclimation.
Sun Exposure: In the northern hemisphere, south, east, or west-facing rooms. Doesn’t want hours of direct sun. North-facing windows will not provide enough light for bloom initiation.
Hoyas need potting mix with quick drainage that can provide good air circulation around the roots. This Hoya can withstand a little dryness between waterings but don’t let it go too long as the leaves are fairly thin. Potting mixes that retain too much moisture for too long will rot the roots. Typical potting mixes for Hoyas contain perlite, tree bark for orchids, cactus and succulent potting mix, coco coir, or sand among other ingredients, but dense substrates like peat are used in moderation to prevent moisture retention. Unless of course you go semi-hydro. I’m not here to tell you what to do. All of my plants are grown in Lechuzapon.
